CSV Compare

Privacy information

Updated 24 October 2026

This page describes the current free version of CSV Compare.

Your CSV files

File contents are read and processed in your browser using background workers. The app does not upload selected files, filenames, column headers, matching keys, or comparison results to an application server. File data is held in browser memory, not saved by the app in cookies, local storage, or a database.

Clearing or replacing a file releases the app's references to it. Closing or reloading the page ends the session; the browser controls when memory is reclaimed. Downloaded reports remain wherever your browser saves them, until you remove them.

Website requests

Your browser requests the website's application files, help pages, and any example files you choose to load. The hosting provider receives ordinary connection information such as your IP address and requested URLs, and may retain operational or security logs under its own policies. Local file contents are not part of those requests.

Analytics and external services

This version includes no analytics scripts, advertising, external fonts, error-reporting service, account system, or application cookies. Browser extensions and software on your device operate independently of this app.

Feedback

The feedback link opens GitHub, which has its own privacy practices and sign-in requirements. Feedback may be public. Never include private CSV files, personal records, credentials, or confidential business data. Share a small made-up example instead.

Questions

You can raise a privacy question through the GitHub feedback page. Avoid including sensitive information.
